Target group:  This course is exclusive to members of academic institutions. Priority is given to applicants from the German states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland.

Dive into the world of high-performance computing with our hands-on workshop, focusing on the programming models MPI and OpenMP.
Gain practical experience with Message Passing Interface (MPI) basics in C, Fortran, or Python and shared memory directives of OpenMP through interactive sessions in C or Fortran.

Key Topics:

  • Parallel Programming with MPI covering all topics from the beginner level to intermediate and advanced.
  • Shared memory parallelization with OpenMP directives, starting with OpenMP 3.4 for beginners and progressing to several advanced features of versions 4.0-5.0.

The course was developed by HLRS, EPCC, JSC and ZIH.

Content Level:  70% Beginner-friendly, 30% Advanced topics

Lectures will be given by: Dr. Rolf Rabenseifner(Stuttgart, member of the MPI Forum).
